Essential equipment

• Closed, non-slip shoes with good grip should be worn at all times, for all activities.

• Keep jewellery on your hands to a minimum, your nails clean and ideally free of nail polish, as this can be a hygiene issue.

• Wear clothing that allows you to have arms bare below the elbow if in contact with food. Rolling or pushing up sleeves is fine.

• If working in the garden, ensure you wear the following at all times:

  • boots or solid shoes with good grip

  • a hat

  • gardening gloves

  • eye protection

  • Long sleeved-top with a collar and long pants for sun protection, OR ensure that you have generously applied sunscreen to exposed skin.

Make sure before your first home visit that you're fully equipped with one of our Helper kits! 

We request you purchase the following equipment from a pharmacy and then Lively will reimburse you for the costs. This can be done online for your convenience, if you prefer. Follow the links below to access the relevant items:

We will ensure that you are not out-of-pocket for long for your Helper kit purchases.

Please use our expense claim form to be reimbursed for what you've spent on Helper kit items.

We will reimburse you as part of the next payroll and you'll see the expense show on your payslip as a reimbursement.
