We know that finding a job as a young person can be hard work. So hard, in fact, that over half a million young people in Australia are currently unemployed or underemployed. We aim to change this by creating meaningful jobs and offering them to young people who don't have a lot of previous experience - giving young people a foot in the door, as well as the chance to build skills and experience in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
4 in 10 older people in Australia report feeling lonely and isolated in their day-to-day lives. That's hundreds of thousands of older people feeling alone in our community. That's why we run programs and services that help older people connect, communicate and enjoy everyday life. We believe that technology can (when used well!) be a tool for connection, which is why we help older people learn more about it.
We live in a community where young and older generations don't spend a lot of time together. And perhaps because of this, ageism is also a major problem in our community - 66% of Australians have predominantly negative attitudes towards older people. We aim to reduce ageism by facilitating meaningful connections between young and older people - fostering mutual understanding, and encouraging more positive attitudes towards older people.
