Aside from scheduling time with members and being involved in group sessions, there are internal Lively activities that you will need to record time and subsequently be paid for.
Lively keeps budgets for internal training, development and projects for Helpers. We budget based on the standard rate of pay.
You are responsible for entering these sessions into the Lively app in the same way as for Members. You’ll need to choose the Lively HQ location and then the appropriate Area. For more detail on how to do this, please visit the Timesheets page.
You will be paid for all Lively training sessions. Some training will take place in-person with a trainer and some you do in your own time. The trainer will indicate how much time to enter in your timesheet and give you indication on when you can record any training done in your own time (i.e. normally not evenings, weekends or public holidays).
We do not pay you an hourly rate for your time between sessions or the travel between sessions; however, you are entitled to a broken shift allowance if you are working multiple shifts within twelve hours with unpaid breaks in between. For more information, visit Allowances.
We do not pay for time that you spend scheduling sessions with members (e.g. phone calls to arrange a session time).
You should be doing your session notes and confirming your timesheet in the final 5 minutes of your session, and so yes, you are paid for this time as part of the member’s session. Please see the Session Notes page for more information about concluding your session.
You are paid for the session length negotiated in advance with the member, and you are not expected to stay beyond this time. We fully support you to stick strictly to these hours. However, if you choose, you are free to stay beyond your booked session time on an unpaid basis with your member.
If you are staying on an unpaid, personal basis, you must indicate to the Member that you are doing so to avoid any confusion in expectations for the Member with regards to your time. Before staying on, you should conclude the session as usual in order to signal this boundary.
It can be hard to finish sessions on time! If you're having trouble, reach out to HQ to chat about how we can support you to do so.
We pay for pre-arranged regular check-in or meet-up sessions.
The project lead will give a time budget for your project work, which includes when the work can be performed (i.e. normally not evenings, weekends or public holidays).
The Helper Coordinator is available at any time for a wellbeing check-in, and we invite you to reach out whenever you need to chat about how you're going at work, any changes that need to be made, or additional supports we should put in place for you. At the moment, we are unable to pay for these check-ins as they are optional.
Sometimes we run or participate in promotional events for Lively. If you are invited to participate in one of these events where the intention is the promotion of Lively’s services you will be paid for your time. This will be confirmed prior to the event and you will be told how to log your time.
Alternatively we also run community social events. The intention of these events is for the Lively community to get to know one another and spend some quality time together. Attendance at these events is optional and you won’t be paid for your time.
