As a Lively Helper, you are in control of your own schedule, and we will work with you to ensure your sessions are as stable and consistent as possible. This page aims to support you with managing your time, but please visit Scheduling sessions for further instructions on scheduling sessions in the Lively app.
Take some time to reflect on when you would like your regular Lively shifts to be so that you can maintain a healthy balance with your other life activities. Here is an example of what that might look like!
Using the Lively app, ensure your matching preferences are up to date in your Lively profile to reflect when you are available to work. You can do this by opening the side menu, and tapping on your photo in the top left.
The Matching Team will then do their best to suggest matches for you that correspond to your preferred working times.
If your member asks you to work at a time outside of your preferred hours, you can politely decline. It's important that the timing works for both of you!
"I'm sorry, I'm not working then! Would you available at _________?"
If it is clear that a member's availability does not align with yours, consider carefully before offering a time that is outside of your preferred schedule.Â
If you cannot wholeheartedly commit to their request, you may like to say:
"It looks like we might not be free at the same times, I'm sorry! It sounds like it might best for me to ask for our Matching Team to try rematching you with another team member who is available at the right times. Would you like me to do that?"
If a member is regularly rescheduling or cancelling sessions, you may need to have a conversation with them about whether your needs are aligned.
"At the moment we've been struggling to have regular sessions. Because I'm not paid when we don't have sessions, I may need to need to ask Lively to match me with another member for this time slot, I'm sorry! Is there a way we can aim for a bit more regularity?"
If not, you could request a member rematch, and either continue with the original member on a casual basis, or they could be rematched with a different helper (noting that many helpers may need the same consistency).
